In this thesis, we revisit asymptotic symmetries in electrodynamics and gravity. Our goal is to study the existence of asymptotic symmetries in higher even dimensions. We first analyse the case of electromagnetism and study large gauge transformations. We prove the conser vation of large gauge transformation charges by following the procedure in [CE17]. This conservation is related to the soft photon theorem [HMPS14]. Next we study asymptotically flat spacetimes in four and higher even dimensions. We do a full non-linear analysis of the phase space in higher dimensional asymptotically flat spacetimes and study the existence of BMS symmetries.en_US
